  2. Skincare Product Discontinuation:

    • Discontinue retinol creams, AHAs, or other exfoliating products for at least one week before IPL treatment.
    • Prevents skin irritation and reduces sensitivity during the procedure.
  3. Medication and Treatment Avoidance:

    • Inform your healthcare provider of any medications, especially those increasing skin sensitivity.
    • Cease usage of medications like isotretinoin (Accutane) for a specified period before IPL.
    • Avoid other facial treatments (e.g., waxing, laser hair removal) for at least one week before IPL.
  4. Cleanse Skin:

    • Ensure your skin is clean and free of makeup, lotions, or creams on the treatment day.
    • Provides a sterile environment for optimal treatment effectiveness.
  5. Avoid Tanning Products:

    • Refrain from using self-tanning products or getting spray tans for at least two weeks before IPL.
    • Prevents interference with treatment accuracy and reduces the risk of adverse reactions.
  6. Shave Treatment Area:

    • If receiving IPL for hair removal, shave the treatment area the night before or on the day of the procedure.
    • Ensures IPL energy focuses on hair follicles rather than surface hair.
  7. Reschedule for Health Concerns:

    • If feeling unwell, developing a cold sore, blemish, or rash in the treatment area, consider rescheduling your appointment.
  8. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:

    • Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding may not undergo treatment. No exceptions.
